Little Red Baby Shoes Under Glass

I stopped at my favorite store last night. I told myself to relax and take the turn to the left...which was during rush hour and the opposite direction as home... I walked around the store gazing for a LONG time at the big and small unique items that seemed to take me to new places, making me feel like I am in a wonderful dream, same as some movies do to our senses.... I finally purchased something I have been searching for over a year. A glass stand with a glass cover. Picture a miniature cake dish on a pedestal with a cover. The purchase is for the little baby shoes Daniel made Danielle in "memory" of her baby. The spirit moved me to speak....at the counter....to two women who were so busy they didn't notice I was there for some time. When she, the owner, turned to me, I told her I found the perfect little "keeper" I had been looking for. The owner knew I had been searching for this piece for some time. I calmly said, "This is to display a pair of baby shoes for a baby that has passed on. The teenage Mother of the baby had an abortion never to forget." You could have heard a pin drop! "Her Father is in prison unable to comfort her as he would like and need to, so he made a pair of memory shoes out of red and silver candy wrappers." The two women were so touched it had to be God speaking from my spirit. Then the owner said, "Why don't you put a sprig of Christmas green in with the shoes and some snow flakes to give it life and keep its memoryalive. For each season change something in or around it like in Autumn a colored leaf and in Spring a flower....and so on. I said that was a wonderful idea. Then I told them someone on the Internet caught the photo of the artistic baby shoes made of paper candy wrappers and asked permission to use them in a magazine. These women were in total awe of my true story. Then they rang me up and as I left to walk away...I turned, looked back, and said, "The Young girl is my Granddaughter and the man is my son." There was a spiritual moment in time that seemed like dreaming forever.....then.....
The one lady said, "Thank You for sharing."

Peonies-Halloween-Thanksgiving-Christmas

All these Holidays are running together on me this time around and I am not sure why. I live in Wisconsin and we have had several freezes by now but my peonies on the deck are still thriving....but they are PINK! I did take down the lighted Halloween Spider Web but left the pumpkins... Because of Pumpkin Pie on Thanksgiving, get it? I also left the beautiful colored leaf wreath on the outside door. But today when I visited the funny farm (old homestead) and the infamous grainery where I have stored all my memories of old life as well as holiday bins (see past blogposts)....I decided to bring home the Christmas decorations...and there were tons, well several bins anyway. After selling my home in 2003, I hadn't felt happy to use the old ornaments. Rather I bought a lighted tree, a few blue and silver balls and that was it for several years. I guess I have come to life again.... I have my old beautiful tree back! There are many crystal, Victorian, gold birds, frosted balls, and beautiful little pieces hanging a few feet from this chair... Christmas and pansies don't mix or do they? They both bring such happiness and joy....only problem is one is pink and that just doesn't mix with red and green and gold. Nor does it mix with the lighted pumpkin head outside the door. Well picture it! An 8 x 10 glossy of an Autumn wreath on the door, A Christmas Tree shining thru the windows, and pink pansies in the flower boxes....Holy Cow! Am I confused? No...just plan on enjoying the season as long as I can without looking silly ....hum I already do.. who cares ...I am enjoying Summer, Fall, and Christmas all at once..good for me!

The 10-10-10 rule

This I heard on the 107.3FM radio station with John Tesh as the announcer. He gives little tid bits of more than Grand info to all us listeners. He always was the all American boy next door apple pie guy...but now it might be Barack Obama for sure. Anyway...John Tesh says....whenever making any sort of decision it is best to use the 10-10-10 rule. I was ready for the rule when then the station took a commercial break and luckily I was still around after it. John says when making any decision think about what the consequences will be in 10 minutes, in 10 months, and in 10 years. Then he gave this brilliant but average example. If your child calls you at work crying and carrying on because he/she needs you to be home for a special homework project they forgot to tell you about, or the need for a special dinner, or their boyfriend broke up with them......you must think how you will feel and how it will affect your life in 10 minutes if you leave work. How your child will feel or how your decision will affect your life and theirs in 10 months if you leave work and do what they wish, and considering that your boss may disagree is a concern also. Then how this will affect you in 10 years? Could leaving work early to amend the emotions of a child cause you any regrets? In 10 minutes will the child be over it? Probably not. Will the child forget all about this one evening in 10 months? Probably. And in ten years could you have lost that promotion and all that goes with it, and the child has absolutely no recollection of the issue. Such as a large raise in salary that could change your life and allow that child that called with the tantrum a college education! Just an example of how making decisions on emotions can affect/ruin a life or two. Me, I am old enough to know that I wish I had known about the 10-10-10-Rule. I didn't and it did affect my life and my children's. Not that I ever left work early for a child throwing a tantrum....but I do have 10-10-10- regrets. As we all do I am sure and have made the best of it. The key is from now on I shall use the 10-10-10 rule for sure. A good rule indeed. Almost as good as the Golden Rule...so, put the 10-10-10-Rule and the Golden Rule in a jar and shake them up and you have good decisions without a doubt. But do realize this. If the child needs you to be at a special athletic dinner or important live celebration in his or her honor and you chose work over them.....whole different bag of potatoes! Like John T says, 10-10-10 again and again.

History Made Twice on November 4th, 2008

I must say I am glad to have lived to see Barack Obama elected President of this country. To see the faces of so many showing their deep emotion of spirit. To see the spirit of our country be lifted from under the bus to the clouds has been amazing and unforgettable. The tears of the many, including children leave me with no words, only clarity of what is ahead. And how grateful I am to live here. To watch this "manna" come to so many from one earthly human being. Yet knowing we all did it together.
The other event that has made history, at least in my little corner of this world, is my jeans. Yup, you know the pair you save year after year believing you would one day squish your body back into them. Well I have two pair of those....one from 1994 (that is fourteen years ago just so you know) And one from, oh same year...just diff brand. One is Levi 505 and the other is Ralph Lauren. MaMa got herself into both pair... un-squished thank you....and on the same day Obama got his new fit.... granted his is more important for all, but mine is pretty darn cool....come on, FOURTEEN year old Levi jeans....duh And quit smoking in the middle of all that forever and finally those pants are mine again. And the one pair are semi-tight at the bottom which means I have kept them long enough that they are back in style! Not many can say that! Or be proud of that. LOL Now all I have to do is maintain.... size 10 petite, I know S H U T - U P! Stop bragging...Its Obama's moment! Cant do it, nope, don't want to....Let me live it too!

Pick up the Poop

Yes that is a pile of dog "doo doo" outside in my apartment hallway! And it is real, not one of those plastic "jobs." It lies sedentary just in back of the door leading outside! Poor dog had to wait so long it couldn't make it. People can be pretty darn low in many cases. Their Friday or whatever nights out make for the dogs having to "WAIT" until said owners have slept it off. Sick! Guess this blog isn't so funny, rather sometimes reality takes a front seat to humor. By the way this poop has been laying there two and a half days now. I called the office who said they would handle it but they didn't. I finally put a sign and a poop bag out just to see if the Moron who stood there while his/her dog "dooed," would pick it up. Or any of the other 35 residents in this building. I did my part! I made it worse with signs and such. By the way, just about EVERYONE, including the office person, has to pass this pile of poop to get to the garage where they park. Well some may take the elevator, but the owner of this poop doesn't! He or she has to go thru the door to find the grass for the dog to poop on. Case closed on that part. Who would leave poop on the carpet inside a dwelling shared by many. Geez! When my dog goes on the sidewalk, and I didn't teach her that, and I have forgotten my poop bag, I find a leaf and at least remove it from the walk way Hello! Anyway she is only 5 lbs. so her doo is a "pilimeter bitty."Guess there were no leaves in the hallway for Moron that day. And where are the camera's? I bet it's still there come evening.. I will pick it up if it's still there....or maybe send a photo of it to the management! Or not.....

Strawberry Shortcake and Flavor Flav

Now last night was fun even though my part was only camera person and crown maker. Check out that crown! The Frat boy was all ready to go party without his "Flavor Flav" crown. Like I knew who or what a Flavor Flav was. Seems he is a washed up rapper from the 80's. Sort of like me, a washed up flapper from the 80's. And I am still behind but loving every minute of it. Strawberry is my daughter and Frat Boy is her guy since she was 14 and will be 20 this month. So.... Frat boy was "whining" cause Strawberry looked better then he did. She was "shining." Telling jokes and making other funnies. It was then I noticed her distinct ability to be an actress which is what she wants anyway. Why she is going to Cosmo school is beyond me unless she can do hair for the stars. Back to point which I always run off from. Strawberry became someone else with her new outfit on. Wish we could all spend $40 and become someone funny and witty and charming like Lucy! OK so Frat boy is sad. Me, I just want to work on my computer book and relax, b u t....I succumbed to his need considering I am Miss Creative. I pull out the old dusty scrap booking paper from under the bed and find GOLD. Then I find silver aluminum tape I got from a 3M salesman that used to live in my building. Then I found more 3M blue tape. Do not ask me why I kept it! And I do not hoard. The creative juices flowing caught me heading for the jewel box that still has 80's on up good stuff crammed in it. Found those old jewels we used to put over buttons! No kidding! Glued them on Frat Boys Crown of "Flavor Flav" and bingo wingo....Majic. No more sad Frat Boy. Oh I forgot his walking stick broke in half while I was scrounging up a crown and whalla, aluminum bumper tape to the rescue. I was willing to share it because I don't have a chrome bumper anymore so I wont need it. I know, get with the times. I did, I have a blue bumper now and blue 3M tape. I am glad those nasty button covers are out of my jewel box though. What was I thinking?

I Smell Grandma

Sounds gross huh? "I smell Grandma." Well it could be or not. You see I went to Macy's to buy my Estee Lauder Super Cologne as I have for the past twenty years or so. All I am really sure of is that the ducks are still flying south and I am upright. I prefer Chanel No.5 and every time I pass that counter I spray the bee-jee-bees out of my clothes, in my purse, on one of those teenie tiny cardboard perfume sample deals, on my hair and shoes. I want to buy it. Even though it is twice the price. I love Chanel No.5 lotion, and powder and perfume. But....I smell Grandma so I cant buy it. What I am saying is my wonderful loving but dead Grandma comes to check on me now and then. And I can smell her. I tell the truth. She smells like cheese and that is either because of lack of bathing on the old old farm, or because she was always making butter and seperating the cream from the top of the milk. And no its not me I am smelling doi, it's the real McCoy, Grandma Tillie. She separated the real milk from real cows out in the barn. Back to my point which is.....if I should die before I wake and I come visit any of my children or G-children, they have to remember the smell. And that smell is Estee Lauder Super Cologne. And when that day comes and they don't smell me in the spirit I will be really pissed that I didn't buy the Chanel No.5. Either one is better than cheese. Sorry Grams, but still glad to smell you now and then.
