Pardon which Turkey?

Maybe I am being too serious or maybe I am right. I see this Turkey Whisperer on TV ever so carefully, mind you, with two other grown men, scooting two turkeys into large animal carriers.....(better and cleaner then where many people sleep), to be driven to D.C for pardon. Then they are gently lifted into the back of a large American SUV...stands for Sucks Up Volumes (of Gas). The driver tells us he and the turkeys will know one another well by the time they arrive. I bet, especially after they crap a few times for him in back of that SUV. Back to my point which is what? How to determine which Turkey gets pardoned. The news announcer mentioned how he or she turkey walked and what personality traits they look for to determine who lives or dies....Everything the guy said made me think of The Secret Book/Tapes/Movie. The Secret says everything that happens to us is our fault. I often wondered whole hearted-ly if all the 3,000 people in the twin towers were thinking badly that day? Or if the many people on the bridge in Minnesota caused their own demise, even the baby that sadly passed? Or the earthquake victims? Katrina Victims? Their fault huh? Me, I don't read The Secret anymore.....I find more positive findings in other books that don't place blame or guilt on the "Turkey" for his own demise. Try the Bible. I agree that positive thinking brings more positive to us. But the whole plane doesn't go down because everyone has bad thinking..... Have I become cynical? Maybe just a tad..... Am I thinking badly/negatively? Is that why I didn't think the turkey smurkey story was so funny or enjoyable today? I had just watched a TV commentary on a homeless man with Cancer...then the next segment is the honorably treated Turkeys on their way to see the President of the United States. In my opinion they looked good together. Bet he wishes and hopes someone will pardon him too....he has the "get pardoned walk!"
I am sure as soon as I start thinking better my car will have no problems, I will never be sick, all my prayers will be answered, my children will not inherit any generational bad habits, I will have enough money for the rest of my life for all my needs, and I will secure my wonderful place in heaven.....but only if I think right. Sooo I will just in case. I will walk proud like that turkey,(Both of them) I will walk confident, I will speak with a good constitution, I will smile happily and as honestly as possible, and if anyone whispers to me I will surely listen intently so I get pardoned too. I wonder why this doesn't work for everyone.... No more buildings would go down, bridges, illness's, and so on. OK so I went overboard. I ate too much chocolate, see it's my own fault.

I Dreamed.....

After I finished shopping yesterday, stopping at the Meineke Car Store again only to get more bad news about my "lovely lemon," (would rather hear good news about my "lovely little lumps," as the song goes..........anyway).......I stop at the corner grocery store for some wine and tell the young boy checking me out, no not checking me out, but checking me out that he looked like Scott Bao, not sure on the spelling there....OK so the major generational gap strikes again and he has NO IDEA who Scott Bao is. I said, "You know, the kid on The Fonz! Chachie!" Once again he stares are me puzzled. I said, "Go home and Google Scott Bao." I have found that one of my better attributes is telling people they look like movie stars. It really changes their day and maybe month or year who knows. I do it all the time and every single time a HUGE smile appears on their faces which seeps on into their minds and spirit. Try it sometime but don't be foolish.....like saying someone looks like Angelina Jolie when she really looks like Ugly Betty... I find positive resemblances and take it from there. (I guess Angelina and Betty both have big lips, but still) I have a client that really does look like Diane Sawyer and even sounds like her. I would like to send a photo of her to Diane Sawyer. What's my point? Well after finding and reading and posting the old love letters, talking to the young man "checking me out," which led me to think about some old Fonzie days what do you think happened? I had a best est dream. A famous doctor fell in love with me and I got my face lift, my new car, my prolapsed u-ter-ie-bee fixed, the four teeth got their root canals and then he tried to kill me for the insurance money he had taken out while I was in glory land getting all nipped and tucked as well as driving around in a car with a nice paint job LOL. S H U T U P! Don't worry, I killed him with his own gun on the boat he talked me into going out on and you all KNOW MaMa hates the water. Too bad, so sad, I won but again and came out shining....
This is why I don't date! Too much trouble so far anyway. Even in my dreams.

Love Letters from '93

With all the love of family this week I decided to dig out my beautiful love letters from 1993.....OK so when you hear all about my beauty do remember these letters are fifteen years past...... just enjoy the words and the beauty they offer.
Each is written on a blue note paper, some with drawings and always signed, "Your Secret Admirer."
I retyped out the white letter because it holds phrases from Shakespeare.....and I wished it to be easier to read.
Diane, I kept a note written on your bank deposit with you address - so I'll try it out. Lunch time....do you get your mail at 2:00? 3:30?
I sometimes read your letters during the day secretly. It fills me up. I have you near me for a few minutes. You wrote and write like I am accustomed to. So much inside you that gushes out. I was thinking about some advice Friar Lawrence gave Romeo in "Romeo and Juliet." Their love was fast and intense - almost out of control. The timing was right for both at the same moment. Friar Lawrence said:
"These violent delights (love) have violent ends, And in their triumph die; Like fire and powder, which as they kiss, consume.
The sweetest honey. Its loathsome in his own deliciousness, And in the taste confounds the appetite. Therefore love moderately, long love doth so, Too swift arrives as tardy as too slow." We've rushed at each other pretty fast you know? It's intense and passionate and exciting. I haven't felt this way in a long time. I hope you enjoy the feeling too. But I hope you can see deeper through my window and I hope I can be someone you can respect when the passion subsides. "To be somebody, you must last."
I have some faults I am trying to admit to and change. To have you with me with your patience and acceptance - is more than I could hope for. We have some magic together - I don't know what it is. It could be a mutual need. It could be we're the same in heart. I do know I feel so very warm and comfortable with you. You have so much strength you've earned from suffering. You have your priorities in the only order. God and family near the top. In the midst of your own difficulties you give comfort to everyone else. You and your children are one precious family. I hope there are ways I can make your lives just a little more joyful,
I love You............

A Calm, Peaceful Thanks-Giving Day

So today is turkey day. The day we give thanks which is backwards....frontwards is Thanksgiving Day or is that backwards? It was a great day...little girls mashing potatoes, people playing cards, top picture is Karsyn taking a pie order from Papa Joe....Then family friend Stephen stops in before he heads over to meet more of his family, then flies back to Arizona....
Stephen swoons the ladies, big and small, young or old....he has that special smile and gentleness
everyone enjoys....he plays cards, he entertains the youngin's, has a great sense of humor, and he poses like a gayrod on the sofa, no shock to Chad. (see photo below)

I was glad to get a photo of Grandma Dorothy with her two Granddaughters. Grandma is 96 years young....

And as you scroll down you will see Chad, my son, playing Robin Hood after dinner with a napkin on his head!

Then there is PaPa Joe sound asleep in the office after dinner....

Then there is Chad and one of the twins enjoying a loving moment.

Then there is Chad and that twin sound asleep on the office sofa after Papa Joe woke up and wondered out..

Grandma Dorothy, age 96, Kim and Tamara

Papa Joe down for the count

Robin Hood the morning after. (I guess Chad overdid on the drink last evening to say the least they say)
No politics, no disagreements, nothing all those "other" families have. LOL... Cody was missed but he had a nice meal with friends. Chris was missed but he drove a few hours to see his best friend in from Afghanistan. Then he drove hours back to push the snow button for a magic show in Las Vegas he is working every day....
We miss Daniel who we hope is well and had a decent meal also.
Our prayers were of Thanksgiving and blessings to those not with us. Briana and Danielle, the Granddaughters and nieces spent the day with their Mom and her boyfriend but we surely missed them. Nothing really funny or remarkable happened today. Isn't that great? I did take one tum on the way home and just now a Wal-zan which is Wal Mart generic for zantac made in China and I can only hope there isn't asphalt or paint, or melamine in them in which case heartburn would have a new meaning. And Grandma J. only tried to force feed one person today! And Grandpa J had his cataracts removed so he showed up without glasses and everyone was stumped as to the new face in town. Kim doesn't talk tooooooooo loud, but hey, it was great. She does dishes! The kids only had six altercations all reasonable. Me, I held it to a minimum of speaking, thinking, acting out, or even listening. That way there was no chance of any family troubles. Seriously, it truly was a nice afternoon with very nice people, after the others left... I said, just kidding!

The Dead Goldfish Lives On

Upon entering one of my clients "REST rooms," (now why do they call them that?) I couldn't help but notice a bowl sitting on the corner of the bathtub and in it was what appeared to be a fish......a DEAD fish all bloated and disgusting. I had to almost barf. Then I thought surely this is a plastic toy in that bowl of water. Nope....not....nadda. After leaving the "Rest room," I pulled a Rosie O'Donnell and spit out this question to the lady of the house. "Excuse me, but is that a dead goldfish in the bathroom on the corner of the tub in that bowl of water?" She said, "Sshhh, its an issue! And we are keeping it safe."(For their little girl in first grade) I am like thinking, HELLO LADY, I didn't feel so safe from the barf issue while looking at that bloated dead goldfish you have held back from having a decent funeral and showing slash teaching your child life goes on somewhere else besides a bowl of water at the tub site...... And mind you its still there a month and a half later....that adds up to 6 weeks (could be longer because I left out how long it takes to bloat up a Goldfish after death eeww) Now here's the sticky part one.....they take showers and baths in that area daily with the remains of Fred or whatever that blessed fish's name was. Yes I know there is no such word as fish's. So what? There is no such thing as what I have viewed on this subject either. OK sticky part two. Let's just say Grandpa dies...... he gets a casket or an urn but he gets something besides the bathtub....called burial or burn! In this family that little girl hasn't learned that yet. What a RUDE awakening this will be for her. Grandpa cant stay in the bathtub and bloat up and remain there forever. Of course I understand the stress of the pet goldfish's death. But I still say a mini funeral and outside burial is in order and a great lesson. Dust to dust HELLO.... Not life to bloat to rot not to mention is it safe to breath around it? I dunno. And I do hope she doesn't read this because I do like her. But it's blog hello! They are having guests for Thanksgiving this week. Can you just see it now? An 8 x 10 glossy of Grandma or Grandpa using the REST room only to get a front row seat view of "How to keep a dead goldfish living on and safe." Yuksie Modo! (You all should read some of the funnies on the guys blog that I got this pic from! His site is due below this line........ Get the pies ready the big day is near. And yes I have my tree up already loving every glistening moment of it.

So I'm Behinder the Game of Blog

Its been a long weekend obviously......after the anticipated one on one dinner with my son at his fancy clubhouse, thirty children in an opposing room watching movies at a mere cost of a million per child and whose child do you think keeps running out into the dining area? Yup his! Out of thirty, wouldn't cha know my kin shows their butts. All in good humor of course. Then onto the bar where all of his thirty something successful friend couples, except the ones deer hunting, oh gasp!, are drinking and relaxing. They welcomed the old girl with open arms and gentle Happy Birthday's. Even a bottle of sparkling came across the generational divide..... And one dear soul of a lady in a doggie hat with one black ear and one white ear offered to find me a "hot man." Now this I wanna see, touch, carry on with and hope she wasn't too "with wine/beer/nonsense, to remember. Will definitely keep you posted on that one. Some discussed the economy and how advertising was down at his place of business, another the market.....but for the most part it was dirty talk. Well really... The dog lady asked me if I wanted to see her husband's penis. I had to think about that believe it or not... He kept ignoring her, probably because he has one of those proverbial flat tops that only coaches and men who hate change have. Yup a flat top at age thirty something. No not a jagged one, a real live flat top like those coaches on TV have, OR old men and I mean old. Back to his penis.....finally he bent his head down and there it was on the wrong end! No lie! He is balding on top his head in the shape of a penis and nards. Hilarious and I didn't get a picture. Better get in touch with him and ask for a picture of his penis. Alright time to get off that. All puns intended. It was when the dog lady informed my son she was going to get "his Mother" a hot man that he started flailing his arms around his head as to herd away those awful words that brought awful imaginations to mind...not! After that hullabaloo the wonderful young chef, Edwardo, came out to the bar to greet all the compliments regarding his talents. And there are many because he is quite the fellow with quite the job indeed. A fancy million dollar close knit neighborhood filled with wonderful, kind, humorous, people and children to prepare meals for in a peaceful beautiful golfing neighborhood setting on the countryside of farmlands in Wisconsin. Suddenly out of nowhere, well, the movie room, comes a pack of children.... two belonging to our table..one with a headache from being bopped in the eye and a need for sleep and crying. Well it was great while it lasted....now onto my lovely lemon to drive home at a reasonable deer hunting speed so as not to have one of those precious animals sitting on my face through the windshield! In Wisconsin that is a major concern this time of year and not one I wanted to top the evening off with. Dog lady was enough for one night. By the way my daughter in law was off doing her bowling league.... We missed her precense but it was very nice to have dinner with my son one on one...

Happy Birthday to Me

Most recent photo and I love roses!
(This is also the day John F. Kennede was assassinated...that happened on my 16th birthday.)
So this is the day I was born.... who wants to celebrate? Me, I do..... I will be having dinner with the only son that lives in the area. The others will call with love and good wishes. So happy happy day......glad you were born D! You have raised five children by yourself, loved three foster children, loved many children for fifteen years of in home day care, been a successful insurance agent in Texas and Oklahoma.....loved and been loved. But....never got to New York City to walk under the lights and look up in awe wishing I had just once lived there up high in one of those buildings with 200 floors......Never did want to fly across the ocean.... but still want two brother siblings to Foster and or adopt...... Still want a bit more life security..... And to live long enough to see and hug my son who lives in a small box in Prison and to leave him something to help him survive "out here." I never got to design that window at Macy's which probably was over my head anyway...wishful dreaming is sometimes fun.....And I must live long enough to see if my middle two sons, Chris and Cody, have children. I could never miss that and live on in peace here or beyond. And.... finish my book/books before I leave this earthy earth for the more peaceful life, one hopes anyway. And one more thing......a mini lift and new car would be marvelous. Happy B Day D!

Talking to the Dragonflies

Yes I can communicate with dragonflies and on occasion a dog, cat or horse even......and of course its a gift. A gift maybe anyone could have if they took some "time out." Do you ever remember getting a "time out?" It's where you have to sit quietly for longer than you want to. Communicating is the same thing only with deep concentration on the being before you.....whether a dragonfly or a horse. They have everything we do except a voice to speak words. I become one with them. Then I can let them know what I want from them and they let me know how they feel or I sense various other things. Not all the time because my human mind wanders off to thinking on earthly projects or a BLT on toast or cake....I like cake! Something dragonflies do not know about. My dragonfly experiences began several years ago when I was going to visit my son at a State Prison in Southern Illinois. I was taking his daughters to visit him for the first time. A very stressful situation indeed. We got there to the "twin towers" prison and parked the car.....took some deep breaths without letting on the degree of stress contained within the soul of the air being expelled from within me, to any of the girls. That is when my first dragonfly friend appeared to me hovering over the hood of my car for what seemed to be hours when in reality it was longer than one of them usually hovers. I heard that beautiful little creature tell me, "ALSWELL"(my trademark word) and all will be well, just go ahead on in." Then she flitted away like a real fairy from my childhood stories. I love fairies, humm. After that there have been many many instances of Dragonfly fairies, just because I want them to be fairies by the way, sent to lead me and guide me and shock me also... Once onne hovered a ways out from my windshield for several miles as I was traveling 60 mph. Now how did she/he do that? I was in such awe of this beyond belief hovering crafty bug! But she/he sure boosts my faith every time they come and play circus trapeze artists around me and everytime I need them they appear... and it always happens right when I need a sign or a lift. Once I had to do an awful job for a while....A job I disliked intensely and was embarrassed of. I was praying for something different and wondering if that would ever happen. (I know read The Secret again doi) Anyway, I had just gotten out of my car and two HUGE dragonflies come fluttering around my car and me over and over while mating. Circling me to the place it rather frightened me actually. Then they came right in front of my face and hovered there like an alien space ship....they just stayed.....then they escaped so fast, just like alien space ships do...ssshhhsshh gone! I called for them to come back because I knew my fear had sent them away...They came back and I was one with them at that moment, because nothing was there, nothing but me and the two dragonfly's...ONENESS. It only took seconds after I called to them that they were back and circling my car again....And hovering before me. I thanked them for showing me that their mating represented a "NEW LIFE" coming for ME! And well it did.....
I love my little friends and they seem to care for me from another dimension we can only touch base with on occasion when we get out of ourselves and out of this earthly dimension as well as acknowledging a oneness with their world. Now I need to find a wintertime bug to communicate with. ha. Let me add that I believe praying is similar to what I experience with my little buddies. Only, Angels are our BIG buddies.....maybe with much more power indeed. Think on this one?

Your Life as a Ship

I was talking to God regarding a family dilemma, and asked God if he thought I could do "it." I sensed this: You have to decide if you will or will not. Not if you can. You know the answer to your situation. You merely said too much and thought too little. You created a crater for yourself and fell in it. Now you need a bulldozer to cover it up. Make your decision, look for guidance and carry on. This situation is not different, it has the same quirks, dysfunction, and attitude as many situations in life…many could learn that from you if you just make sure you don't react out of timing or emotions. You are the leader, the adult…don’t take bad energies from others. Give your good energies. You sometimes take on others energies and then blame them. You grow up and then everyone around you will. As for people who continually give you bad energy, disengage yourself. NOW! Just do one at a time. Too many make the ship sink. And if yours started sinking? Why? I will tell you where your responsibility starts and where it stops. You are the one that will go OVERBOARD…..Stay in the boat….move the mast as I tell you…steer in the direction of positive words and thoughts…and stay afloat. You don’t even need a life jacket then, because good thinking is your life jacket. Stop taking it off and throwing it away because it is uncomfortable….It is big enough to save you and all yours…People come to you without a life jacket…in fact many people with so many hooks in their hearts the pain makes them scream…you probably throw a few of your own at times and then others then throw them back at you….how can that battle be won…it cannot. There are other ships along side yours ….ignore those ships and steer your own. Why jump ship and leave yours unattended. Get yourself together and run your own ship. If there are those that wish to be a part of it, fine…doesn’t mean you have to connect with the other ships or boats as you have before. And you needn't allow them to connect to yours. Your choice. You are the captain of your ship….you better get control of it. Stop whining. Run your own ship no matter who comes in it or who leaves it. Your letting others run your ship! Sometimes your ship is like the weather…up and down. Yet,the steadier she goes, the better for all. Steady your ship for when the bigger wave comes, to get through it, you must be in control of the means to do it. If your ship is unsteady already how can it weather even a small storm. (If you show you can run a small ship wouldn’t you then be advanced to a bigger ship.) That is the way it goes. Floundering wont get you there. Make your decisions, stick to them…don’t let any on board that will sink your ship. Let those go….you are the authority, not the maid…. Some are abused because they cant speak up or run their ship and so on.... You are not a child as that. A child has not the capabilities to steer a ship, maintain a ship, keep her passengers in line, stay out of dangerous waters, make sure of the right amount of lifeboats . An emotional Captain can make errors. A Captain with good judgment and foresight of mind will always come out on TOP. Steady she goes…Diane….steady she goes…no matter who is on board…you are the captain, in love, until the day you bring her into port and greet me with your maps and books telling a story of a job well done.
Do not let the thirsty wait for a drink.
It is your weakness, not their inability that have put you in this spot. A weak man cant sing the song…
I am not being harsh, I am handing you a plate with the answers I know you can eat of. Do not eat weakness, rather sing your song. It is always there. I bring song to life as my sign of strength for you. You are a mighty woman…Act upon that. A mighty woman with a mighty ship. Of coarse I know you don’t like the water….remember this is my water, not the worlds. My parable to you for your life and ALL who enter it. Give them a ride on my ship…give them “Steady She Goes!” What better lesson could you offer. Get back on board there’s a ticket a waitin’ just for you and yours.
Do you think that was my dead Grandma talking to me, Maybe an Angel, or God, or ....... I dunno, but I heard it is what I do know.

Whose in My House

This is one of those nights! It is 2:34 a.m. which stands for insane o'clock and I am awake and have been for an hour. I heard everything from someone trying to break in the door quietly to someone outside the window to shadows here and there. Even the dog sat up once to check out our para normal activities. I had us kidnapped, begging not to leave the dog alone. I ducked to miss a blow in the head (like I can move that fast) then kicked the intruder in the doo da days then killed him with the dull knife I use as a dead bolt between the frame and the door. All puns intended. My stomach growled and that even scared me! I did not hear any voices so I did continue to attempt a loosing battle with sleep. Then I heard the big creak and that is when I got up...... since then, the dishes are done, laundry room clean, little pile of doggie poo picked up and flushed, drinking my second twelve ounce glass of water in case this is all the result of dehydration incantation, and cooked a large "slab" of salmon steak with terriaki sauce and fresh lemon of which I ate some of. Now I am telling someone somewhere in the world what a fruitcake I am acting like. Yet, wait a minute here...my horoscope said, Today's Sagittarius Horoscope: Nov 18, 2008 Your logical mind might try to make rational sense of the strange metaphysical ideas, dear Sagittarius, that are popping in and out of your head today. Some of them might be conclusions drawn from books you've been reading, but others might actually be messages from the other side. Write down whatever insights come your way. They might not seem logical, but they'll make a difference to your life.
Wow, I forgot about that until after the big show here. I didn't think to ask the "guys or gals" visiting my apt. from the other side if there were any messages. I was too busy imagining awful things of the dark side. Its from generalized anxiety disorder they say. Or is it? Maybe I am really very in tuned or tuned in to the other side which would cause anyone generalized anxiety at times. Well regardless, before I got all this figured out I told all the visitors to leave unless they were Angels or God.....So any messages that may have changed my life done left. I should have used the 10-10-10 John Tesh Rule tonight. (two blog posts back) Here I am ten minutes later and too late. I kicked 'em out. At least I can sleep soon. I was probably just dehydrated. All this energy wasted. Oh, forgot to tell you....I figured out one of my visitor's from the other side was the Winter Flag I just put up out on the porch....the wind is blowing a tad causing a reflection and shadow on the door window. At least that is my logical explanation. And I killed the other one with the dull knife remember. This is surely my parents fault. They took me to see House on Haunted Hill with Vincent Price when I was like hello EIGHT! I never forgot it ever ever as you can tell. Tonight I cannot believe "I am what I think" because that would be "very not good." So I will end with "Alswell," my little trademark word I purposefully misspell because life isn't always alswell is it? Yet we must believe it is to survive and thrive. Good night to "all" out there and in here.....

The Way We Were We Still Are

This is my Maternal Great Grandmother and Grandmother. They married young, had many children, did some Foster Care, did laundry and cleaned homes for others...married several times and they were strong, hardworking women who raised their children alone at times. So did I!
Those damn cells have memory (good and bad)... and keep on keeping on coming...the Bible says for Three Generations...That means my daughter might be safe on the maternal side anyway. The photo of the man is my Great Great Grandfather Baker. Someone mentioned he was a Quaker which is why the girls married so very young. At 13 and 14 and 15 years old. Not me, I waited to age 17!! whoopie doo. Now the photo of the seven people is my Paternal Great Grandparents and my Grandparents standing left behind them. That 's enough for now. What's my point? That we are all good and bad and the cells carry both the good and the bad onto the next generation.... me and mine and you and yours. Haven't you ever heard, "I wonder why I was born?" Duh....to fix the way you were before you got the way you are....which still needs fixin'! My Grandfather was a drinker, so we all have to watch additions. My other Grandfather was poor, so we have to watch out for poverty cells. But ALL my Grandparents loved children and took care of children.... Just like me, except I Mothered Husbands unintentionally which called in immature men. Shheessh. Cells again I tell ya... You cant kill them, you have fight their urges, fight their demands, fight what they tell you secretly! You have to remake the way you were UNLESS you are perfect and came from perfect. Ya right.... We all came with issues either from our ancestors or who knows, our past life or lives. Yes I do believe in coming back here for another round of pain...but I have decided to refuse the next round. This MaMa has had enough....done.....nadda.....no more. Well not unless something changes and time has become an issue on that score card...

Sit Down, This is Big

My daughter-in-law's father, William Donald Miller, was murdered 36 years ago when he came home on leave. (Marine's) Upon arriving home he found his wife and her lover together in his home with his children. I have blogged this in the past so this is a short up date... Witness's came forward after all these years.... They say there is proof William Donald Miller's wife lured him to an area where her lover in fact shot him dead. She then married that lover/murderer two months after her husbands death by murder and had another child with him. They are both in jail in N.C. The man arrested (her lover) was the Chief of Police in a city in N.C. where he has since been fired. No trial date has been set. Now here comes the sit down part. A new chief of Police has been hired....his name is Donald Miller! S H U T - U P! Someone other than of this world is tending to business don't -cha think?
P.S. A judge allowed the suspected murdered out on bail....
Maybe Judges have too much power? But I suspect not more power than the God watching over this mess of a puzzle who will definitely take it piece by piece apart so William Donald Miller's family can put their life puzzle back together.

Nothing is $29.95

Brakes are the only thing I didn't seem to need!
Update: Me sitting in the Meineke Repair "STORE," from 1:30 to 6:15 p.m. today (where you get to go shopping for items you didn't really want) I arrived with a small bag of pretzels and a half a bottle of water after working steadily to get off early then stopping in to see about "my wonderful cars leaking tire" that turned out to have nail in it... I 'd rather been at Macy's STORE! I knew I needed an oil leak repaired which I did not have fixed...But did have that dirty air filter changed...I knew I needed my heater fixed because I am COLD while driving. Not a little cold, really cold. Cold on high, decent on low. Have you ever lived in Wisconsin and been warm on low? Nope. So I had them check that ...plus a funny singing noise near the windshield that was a broken rubber hose. I had that fixed along with my radiator flushed after I saw the junk inside looked like dried tan makeup that residues itself around the top of your makeup bottle. Ewww.. as well as the coolant inside the radiator jug looked like tan mud.....not so good! I did not have the thermostat fixed at another $400 or $500....Oh I forgot, I put my third tyrod bar on drivers side at $250. That is only after he showed me the "Play Wobble Dance" my tire was doing which was by all appearances dangerous. I knew my front end was wobbling about for some reason... so....I fixed that which automatically means front end alignment at $70. But I am still COLD driving home and wha- wha-ing part of the way because I knew that to be warm would cost me more than a blankie poo. Oh wha some more, what the H is $500 anyway? FOOD stupido... And still need another $500...didn't fix the windshield wiper either so there. I told they guy " I can still see!" They did laugh. Cute, they laughed. Oh good that makes it OK ? Nor did I repair the broken trunk latch and those do hinkies that make the trunk close without SLAMMING at $300... or the window that is off its track on the drivers side at $100. It's only an issue at McDonald's or the Bank so I can live with it. Seems I am not the only one by far so they tell me at McDonald's and the Bank. Maybe I should marry a mechanic...no never mind, dentist and psychiatrist are still top of my list......Please don't tell me to be happy I had the money to fix it... I am. But Christmas might be leaner than I thought. But then again, maybe not..I am a positive "The Secret" thinker. S H U T U P!

Happy Birthday Lindsay Joy

Happy 20th Lins! Glad you were born. I couldn't find any pictures without the B-boy in them so here you two are once again after five years together. (I know he is happy you were born too.) I am very proud of the many hurdles you have had to overcome in your short life. And I am more than sure you will overcome any and all that come your way in the future because our family just does that, overcomes if necessary.....you were "hatched" from very strong people. Like the Eagles. They soar above the river of life and only dive for their catch when they know that they know their ready and they always get their fish! You will find your way through the river fish of life also. Through the good and the bad you will persevere. Your Father was a strong man who went after what he wanted and usually got it. Me, I made some regrets, and through them discovered my own strength.....You come from good strong NIKE people. "Just Do It people!" And you will. All my children have been late bloomers... but what beautiful flowers they have all turned out to be.

Little Red Baby Shoes Under Glass

I stopped at my favorite store last night. I told myself to relax and take the turn to the left...which was during rush hour and the opposite direction as home... I walked around the store gazing for a LONG time at the big and small unique items that seemed to take me to new places, making me feel like I am in a wonderful dream, same as some movies do to our senses.... I finally purchased something I have been searching for over a year. A glass stand with a glass cover. Picture a miniature cake dish on a pedestal with a cover. The purchase is for the little baby shoes Daniel made Danielle in "memory" of her baby. The spirit moved me to speak....at the counter....to two women who were so busy they didn't notice I was there for some time. When she, the owner, turned to me, I told her I found the perfect little "keeper" I had been looking for. The owner knew I had been searching for this piece for some time. I calmly said, "This is to display a pair of baby shoes for a baby that has passed on. The teenage Mother of the baby had an abortion never to forget." You could have heard a pin drop! "Her Father is in prison unable to comfort her as he would like and need to, so he made a pair of memory shoes out of red and silver candy wrappers." The two women were so touched it had to be God speaking from my spirit. Then the owner said, "Why don't you put a sprig of Christmas green in with the shoes and some snow flakes to give it life and keep its memoryalive. For each season change something in or around it like in Autumn a colored leaf and in Spring a flower....and so on. I said that was a wonderful idea. Then I told them someone on the Internet caught the photo of the artistic baby shoes made of paper candy wrappers and asked permission to use them in a magazine. These women were in total awe of my true story. Then they rang me up and as I left to walk away...I turned, looked back, and said, "The Young girl is my Granddaughter and the man is my son." There was a spiritual moment in time that seemed like dreaming forever.....then.....
The one lady said, "Thank You for sharing."

Peonies-Halloween-Thanksgiving-Christmas

All these Holidays are running together on me this time around and I am not sure why. I live in Wisconsin and we have had several freezes by now but my peonies on the deck are still thriving....but they are PINK! I did take down the lighted Halloween Spider Web but left the pumpkins... Because of Pumpkin Pie on Thanksgiving, get it? I also left the beautiful colored leaf wreath on the outside door. But today when I visited the funny farm (old homestead) and the infamous grainery where I have stored all my memories of old life as well as holiday bins (see past blogposts)....I decided to bring home the Christmas decorations...and there were tons, well several bins anyway. After selling my home in 2003, I hadn't felt happy to use the old ornaments. Rather I bought a lighted tree, a few blue and silver balls and that was it for several years. I guess I have come to life again.... I have my old beautiful tree back! There are many crystal, Victorian, gold birds, frosted balls, and beautiful little pieces hanging a few feet from this chair... Christmas and pansies don't mix or do they? They both bring such happiness and joy....only problem is one is pink and that just doesn't mix with red and green and gold. Nor does it mix with the lighted pumpkin head outside the door. Well picture it! An 8 x 10 glossy of an Autumn wreath on the door, A Christmas Tree shining thru the windows, and pink pansies in the flower boxes....Holy Cow! Am I confused? No...just plan on enjoying the season as long as I can without looking silly ....hum I already do.. who cares ...I am enjoying Summer, Fall, and Christmas all at once..good for me!

The 10-10-10 rule

This I heard on the 107.3FM radio station with John Tesh as the announcer. He gives little tid bits of more than Grand info to all us listeners. He always was the all American boy next door apple pie guy...but now it might be Barack Obama for sure. Anyway...John Tesh says....whenever making any sort of decision it is best to use the 10-10-10 rule. I was ready for the rule when then the station took a commercial break and luckily I was still around after it. John says when making any decision think about what the consequences will be in 10 minutes, in 10 months, and in 10 years. Then he gave this brilliant but average example. If your child calls you at work crying and carrying on because he/she needs you to be home for a special homework project they forgot to tell you about, or the need for a special dinner, or their boyfriend broke up with them......you must think how you will feel and how it will affect your life in 10 minutes if you leave work. How your child will feel or how your decision will affect your life and theirs in 10 months if you leave work and do what they wish, and considering that your boss may disagree is a concern also. Then how this will affect you in 10 years? Could leaving work early to amend the emotions of a child cause you any regrets? In 10 minutes will the child be over it? Probably not. Will the child forget all about this one evening in 10 months? Probably. And in ten years could you have lost that promotion and all that goes with it, and the child has absolutely no recollection of the issue. Such as a large raise in salary that could change your life and allow that child that called with the tantrum a college education! Just an example of how making decisions on emotions can affect/ruin a life or two. Me, I am old enough to know that I wish I had known about the 10-10-10-Rule. I didn't and it did affect my life and my children's. Not that I ever left work early for a child throwing a tantrum....but I do have 10-10-10- regrets. As we all do I am sure and have made the best of it. The key is from now on I shall use the 10-10-10 rule for sure. A good rule indeed. Almost as good as the Golden Rule...so, put the 10-10-10-Rule and the Golden Rule in a jar and shake them up and you have good decisions without a doubt. But do realize this. If the child needs you to be at a special athletic dinner or important live celebration in his or her honor and you chose work over them.....whole different bag of potatoes! Like John T says, 10-10-10 again and again.

History Made Twice on November 4th, 2008

I must say I am glad to have lived to see Barack Obama elected President of this country. To see the faces of so many showing their deep emotion of spirit. To see the spirit of our country be lifted from under the bus to the clouds has been amazing and unforgettable. The tears of the many, including children leave me with no words, only clarity of what is ahead. And how grateful I am to live here. To watch this "manna" come to so many from one earthly human being. Yet knowing we all did it together.
The other event that has made history, at least in my little corner of this world, is my jeans. Yup, you know the pair you save year after year believing you would one day squish your body back into them. Well I have two pair of those....one from 1994 (that is fourteen years ago just so you know) And one from, oh same year...just diff brand. One is Levi 505 and the other is Ralph Lauren. MaMa got herself into both pair... un-squished thank you....and on the same day Obama got his new fit.... granted his is more important for all, but mine is pretty darn cool....come on, FOURTEEN year old Levi jeans....duh And quit smoking in the middle of all that forever and finally those pants are mine again. And the one pair are semi-tight at the bottom which means I have kept them long enough that they are back in style! Not many can say that! Or be proud of that. LOL Now all I have to do is maintain.... size 10 petite, I know S H U T - U P! Stop bragging...Its Obama's moment! Cant do it, nope, don't want to....Let me live it too!

Pick up the Poop

Yes that is a pile of dog "doo doo" outside in my apartment hallway! And it is real, not one of those plastic "jobs." It lies sedentary just in back of the door leading outside! Poor dog had to wait so long it couldn't make it. People can be pretty darn low in many cases. Their Friday or whatever nights out make for the dogs having to "WAIT" until said owners have slept it off. Sick! Guess this blog isn't so funny, rather sometimes reality takes a front seat to humor. By the way this poop has been laying there two and a half days now. I called the office who said they would handle it but they didn't. I finally put a sign and a poop bag out just to see if the Moron who stood there while his/her dog "dooed," would pick it up. Or any of the other 35 residents in this building. I did my part! I made it worse with signs and such. By the way, just about EVERYONE, including the office person, has to pass this pile of poop to get to the garage where they park. Well some may take the elevator, but the owner of this poop doesn't! He or she has to go thru the door to find the grass for the dog to poop on. Case closed on that part. Who would leave poop on the carpet inside a dwelling shared by many. Geez! When my dog goes on the sidewalk, and I didn't teach her that, and I have forgotten my poop bag, I find a leaf and at least remove it from the walk way Hello! Anyway she is only 5 lbs. so her doo is a "pilimeter bitty."Guess there were no leaves in the hallway for Moron that day. And where are the camera's? I bet it's still there come evening.. I will pick it up if it's still there....or maybe send a photo of it to the management! Or not.....

Strawberry Shortcake and Flavor Flav

Now last night was fun even though my part was only camera person and crown maker. Check out that crown! The Frat boy was all ready to go party without his "Flavor Flav" crown. Like I knew who or what a Flavor Flav was. Seems he is a washed up rapper from the 80's. Sort of like me, a washed up flapper from the 80's. And I am still behind but loving every minute of it. Strawberry is my daughter and Frat Boy is her guy since she was 14 and will be 20 this month. So.... Frat boy was "whining" cause Strawberry looked better then he did. She was "shining." Telling jokes and making other funnies. It was then I noticed her distinct ability to be an actress which is what she wants anyway. Why she is going to Cosmo school is beyond me unless she can do hair for the stars. Back to point which I always run off from. Strawberry became someone else with her new outfit on. Wish we could all spend $40 and become someone funny and witty and charming like Lucy! OK so Frat boy is sad. Me, I just want to work on my computer book and relax, b u t....I succumbed to his need considering I am Miss Creative. I pull out the old dusty scrap booking paper from under the bed and find GOLD. Then I find silver aluminum tape I got from a 3M salesman that used to live in my building. Then I found more 3M blue tape. Do not ask me why I kept it! And I do not hoard. The creative juices flowing caught me heading for the jewel box that still has 80's on up good stuff crammed in it. Found those old jewels we used to put over buttons! No kidding! Glued them on Frat Boys Crown of "Flavor Flav" and bingo wingo....Majic. No more sad Frat Boy. Oh I forgot his walking stick broke in half while I was scrounging up a crown and whalla, aluminum bumper tape to the rescue. I was willing to share it because I don't have a chrome bumper anymore so I wont need it. I know, get with the times. I did, I have a blue bumper now and blue 3M tape. I am glad those nasty button covers are out of my jewel box though. What was I thinking?

I Smell Grandma

Sounds gross huh? "I smell Grandma." Well it could be or not. You see I went to Macy's to buy my Estee Lauder Super Cologne as I have for the past twenty years or so. All I am really sure of is that the ducks are still flying south and I am upright. I prefer Chanel No.5 and every time I pass that counter I spray the bee-jee-bees out of my clothes, in my purse, on one of those teenie tiny cardboard perfume sample deals, on my hair and shoes. I want to buy it. Even though it is twice the price. I love Chanel No.5 lotion, and powder and perfume. But....I smell Grandma so I cant buy it. What I am saying is my wonderful loving but dead Grandma comes to check on me now and then. And I can smell her. I tell the truth. She smells like cheese and that is either because of lack of bathing on the old old farm, or because she was always making butter and seperating the cream from the top of the milk. And no its not me I am smelling doi, it's the real McCoy, Grandma Tillie. She separated the real milk from real cows out in the barn. Back to my point which is.....if I should die before I wake and I come visit any of my children or G-children, they have to remember the smell. And that smell is Estee Lauder Super Cologne. And when that day comes and they don't smell me in the spirit I will be really pissed that I didn't buy the Chanel No.5. Either one is better than cheese. Sorry Grams, but still glad to smell you now and then.
